Went in to see remuneration statement, as suggested by someone in earlier thread and I saw the bonus reflected.

But after a few hours when I try again, got pop up message that says “Embargoed till 19 March”. 😅

So I’m not even sure if the amount reflected is correct, though I remembered it was different from my last year’s amount.

That’s because this year amount will be higher because of merit increment for last year. Use current salary and you will see the quantum is the same (if same grade)

Hi, am a BT who completed practicum in Mar 2021. Can I check if the PB amount is already reflected under bonus under the tax filing for IRAS (or is that just the civil svc bonus of 1.3mth + 1mth AWS?).

Im also interested to find out what are some portfolios or committees I should take part in the upcoming year to position myself better for FLP or for school to consider grooming me, given that I’m already a scholar but I’m seconded to one of the independent schools.

Take up duties / responsibilities that are shunned by the average teacher, but helpful to the management

Whoa hold your horses, first focus on proving yourself as a capable, reflective T&L practitioner, CCA teacher, form teacher, that can add value in these key aspects of a teacher's job.

After all that, then you start to broaden your portfolio to develop in a leadership area that you like (instructional, student development, etc).

I must warn you though, FLP selection criteria are very opaque since it is centrally managed by HR. Even if you have supportive P on your side who can fight tooth and nail for you, the extent to which the system can be 'gamed' is still very limited.

I suggest you don't use these things as markers of success and self-worth as a teacher. A lot of people come here begging for information about how to get FHQ, FLP, PSLP but who really knows? Nobody from HR is going to come here and leak confidential information about how exactly to get in. Just find your groove, work smart, enjoy your time in school and/or HQ, wherever your projected career trajectory takes you.

I am genuinely very curious about all the people asking how to fly etc…why join teaching in the first place if you can’t wait to get out of the classroom? If you’re a scholar surely you can fly and earn even more in other industries or other public sectors. MOE really
Isn’t the best place to fly. Just look at PB itself…the quantum in MOE is lower than other ministries and stat boards for the same grade. ‘Because we have 30k pple so smaller slice’ which I find is obvious BS. More people than budget should be planned to suit the number. One less jet can cover many many pple (just saying…)
