As for on site security clearance.... I am not very sure when was it cleared.

huh no la i dont think will rescind the offer, doesn't sound like a threat to me leh :\ sounds more like they trying to get clearance and approval for your salary. Did you try to negotiate or something after the security clearance? (Cause i would think that when they provided you the verbal offer before going thru with the security clearance your package is more or less approved alr)
