DBS without a doubt. You can hop to so many other banks and possibly get into better roles.

NUS? Hop to NTU and then ??

what on earth are u thinking? Unless u are talking about academia positions such as professorship, why would anyone choose Universities over banks.

In asking such a question, i think a couple of screws in your head are loose. haha.

You guys are too quick in making the judgement. She/he probably has other considerations besides $$$, for example work life balance, job stability and the environment.

The debate is still out whether a person earning a lot of $$ but over a shorter period because of retrenchment / job hopping will be better off than one who earns a lower salary but over a lifetime of 30-35 years with the same employer.

Looking around, there seemed to a good mix of civil servants, stat board employees as well as bankers, lawyers and businessmen living in landed properties. So, to each his own. No need to mock others. Most important are doing meaningful, honest and fulfilling work.

I have a friend now 41 yrs old work in civil service but is a multi-millionaire by speculating in overseas property. He is going to work everyday out of habit and to socialise with colleagues.

The key thing abt how rich you are depend more on your investment/gambling gains or losses than getting a good job. A good job helps, but you will definitely not make it big by just getting a well paying job.

So this means that a degree holder going into Grade 6 gets less than 3.5K? Does work experience determines which grade do you go into? How much do grade 5 gets?
