Comparable? It’s 3rd from the bottom for NTU based on 2023 median salary graduate employment survey.
Everyone on discord and Reddit were lamenting this. We are only better than Chinese Medicine and Art/Media.
Please just study hard for A levels.

To those locals thinking of joining this industry. Your ability to negotiate salary in Singapore audit job market will become weaker over time. This audit industry will reach a point where government has no choice but to open the floodgates to even more Malaysian Chinese auditors. This is because of aging population plus lack of local interest / talents in this space. These Malaysian Chinese will gladly take your jobs for a lower pay, work twice as harder and at least last long enough for their PR application to be approved before jumping to another sg company. Oh and just wait till KL-SG high speed rail is built. Associates could easily travel to SG daily for audit. Even your partners or SMs could be based in Malaysia.

yea, heard one of the Big 4, seniors are based in foreign countries, while the associates (locals), are the ones doing the vouching work. You can observe the the ratio of ft to locals in your firm.
Msian associates are indeed harder working than locals. maybe it's the power of 3.5. They are willing to put in the hours.

Hiring malaysian is a low move cause clients can't tell the difference based on the names. Getting ripped off for audit fees for work being done by non local uni grad is really the new trend moving forward

I believe except for the advisory or consulting dept within the B4, which may require CVs of the team, audit departments don't need them. For audit, it is more on the firm's reputation and which firms offer lower audit fees.
From the partner's perspective, they are likely to hire whoever can effectively complete the work. Msian associates generally shows strong work ethic compared to locals and they intend to stay long term within the B4, which helps address high turnover issues. So, it might become increasingly common to hire from neighboring countries.
