Last time manager need 4 years, assistant manager need 2 years.

They removed 1 year from AM and 1 year from M, but inserted new Director grade which is minimum 2 years before being considered for partnership

This is incorrect, or at least not applicable to all 4 firms.

For at least 1 firm, director is just a natural stage after senior manager.

For another firm, you will only make director if you are short listed for partner's track.

At least 1 firm gives directors the signing rights.
