s://.todayonline.com/singapore/lower-pay-discrimination-some-hurdles-facing-private-university-grads

Am I right to infer that there are some SIM-UOL earning low 2k or even less than 2k?

If I am getting something higher than the median as a fresh grad, I should be relieved right? Even if it is less than 3k.

-Graduating soon.

I am the poster. Yes, even at 7.5k, I feel I am underpaid considering my experience and my industry (IT). I can get 9k if I jump ship. Just want to let everyone know, yes you may start 20% lower than the public uni folks. But in the end, you career is a not a sprint, its a marathon. A 40 year marathon. It's not your piece of certificate which determines how far you will go. It's up to you to prove yourself in the long run.

Does a SIM degree lower one's CEP from the start? I'm from a ministry, currently MX12 for more than 5 plus years. Gotten C+ C C B B but show how I'm always passed over for promotion. My peers from NUS/NTU with similar or worse performance grades are promoted already.. I tried to ask my RO and he said its partly due to lower CEP I had when I started.. Is due to my degree?

I started with lower salary in my first job as well -- less than 3k.

I have 5 years of relevant experience till date and getting close to 10k p.a. inclusive of bonus.

I am not in sales. I joined a good company and have good bosses who gave me opportunities to develop.

Unless you score less than second lower and have 0 related internship experience, u rly shouldnt be accepting anything less than 2k. Anything less than 2k is a contract/ diploma job.. heck even low 2k can be considered contract/diploma based job

We should reject unfair offers from the govt to create shortages of esteemed and well sought after SIM-UOL grads for the civil service... they will learn their lesson the hard way and pay us more than NUS graduates!
