Maybe private degree holder = low cep in Gov jobs.

But at least you have a stable job.

Is it normal to start applying and working at a full time job immediately after the final papers? I know we get our results in mid Aug and the certificate in Nov/Dec but I don't want to wait till then to start working.

What do I do when HR asks for my bachelor's graduation certificate since the position I applied for is a degree position?

Yes it is normal. I secured a job in February.. You've got to have a much higher sense of urgency than this..

Thank you! I wasn't sure if it was allowed in Singapore. I am graduating next year, and I'm hoping to apply for an employment pass after my finals to extend my stay here.

Actually why are we discriminated? We are part of the LSE man, sure better than the NUS and NTU in terms of economics classes.

I am a graduate from UOL and I urge you not to market or present yourself as part of LSE. As much as the stigma is there, I always say that I am from 'SIM GE, UOL'. We are a distant learning program and is very different from the actual curriculum. HR from any company would call you out or even take you out if you advertise yourself in an incorrect manner.

Local uni grad here, working in the banking industry. It is true that with so many applicants, naturally the high paying jobs go to the local uni people. Even amongst local U people you see people unemployed, so there is an abundance of local U people to choose from.

That being said, there is an SIM Graduate who took a contract job at our company and eventually got converted. I would say the hardest part is getting in but once you do work hard to show that you can do well in a working environment then paper qualifications don’t matter any more.

But you have to be honest and say that if everything else is equal, local uni grad > private U. It’s just a sad truth, butnplay with the cards you’re dealt with
