Pre-Employment clearance for Stat Board

Hi, I applied for an executive position in a Stat Board around August and have been informed by the HR that I have cleared the 2 interviews and is at the clearance stage. It has been more than 2 weeks but still no outcome from HR yet. When I emailed them, they mentioned that the clearance is taking longer than usual. Is this normal? How long does clearance take and what may be causing the delay?

normally one to few months, depends ur background

Ya usually will take some time and depends on how urgent they want to fill the position.
