Umm she can take courses online, and combine that with her finance background. She is still young and needs to think about the next 5 years instead of the next 5 months.

This is bad / wrong advice. You don’t just “do ML” from online courses, without any technical background. The market is highly saturated with people like this (ahem hack wagon). Focus on improving business analyst skill set by communicating with technical folks / project management

Business analyst is not commonly used term in Silicon Valley. Product Manager is totally different skill set than Business Analyst. I dont think Business Analyst will be the future. It is an obsolete role normally used by banks for their IT dept to gather requirements etc. But I dont see how companies moving in that direction. The structure is not encouraging for innovation, and the product normally produced by those structure is barely meet the requirements.
US banks like GS and JPM tries to copy the culture from SV and bring it to their tech team. I can see DBS is trying to emulate the same thing. If you live before 2015, yes business analyst role is relevant but we are moving forward in 2030.
While engineering salary will keep increasing. Saturated is a moronic statement. ML is singapore is still pathetic and the field is still at the early stage.
As more tech MNCs setup their base in Singapore. I wouldnt be surprise to see more roles for freshgrad started at 7k for software engineering role.

Are you willing to slog for less than $3k a month in a contract role for a year or 2, hoping the bank would convert you to full time? The back office roles in banks are full of local uni grads with banking internships and the occasional first-class SIM grads with banking internships. You won't stand much of a chance against them if you're applying for a full-time role directly.

with your profile the closest "front office" job you can land is probably personal banking.

That’s not front office. Front office typically refers to the more elite client-facing roles in investment banks. Even treasury and transaction banking are not really FO FO.

Hello there! If you are a student who is studying at the finance course, then you should get to know the topic of trading better, since this can be a good job for you, daughter, I do not mean a permanent job, but a passive income that everyone dreams of. For example, you can visit the fxcess.com network to find out how the brokerage site works correctly, what low spreads are, and so on.
