Avoid back office la. boring dead end job stagnant pay. Finance is a very dry job if you are not in FO. Even some FO job also very dry, but at least make good money. Just go join other industries like tech sales

depends what sort of IT. most likely is back office lah. unless you're the swe in charge of their fintech products/fintech arm and developing new ideas. then maybe that one is like middle office

i think these days "IT" means alot of diff things to everyone. some boomers still see tech as a cost center eg. desktop/infra engineer etc. although if for example you are in quantitative research then this is undeniably FO and can still be seen as tech altho not seen as "IT"

In other words, since i have sales experience along with CFA + MBA, i can go apply to be a head of an AM firm, despite not having any AM experience?
Sounds like a steal to me.
