For Market research firms, that's standard entry level. However, it's an industry with lots of demand, so in 2 yrs time, getting to 4+K should be easy. The upside is high with 10K+ easily in range within 7 yrs if u try real hard.

With a branded PhD you can either choose to stay in research and become the head of a lab (10k+) or join a drug company (10-20k). Better to come back to Singapore once you get your PhD as easier to move up compared to in ang moh countries.
My advise is don't be swayed by the money. At least not at this stage in your life. 1.3k might seem huge to you now but you will regret later in life when you dread going to work every morning to a job you hate. By then it would be too late to turn back.

I think there is some confusion here. Research exec is different from the normal research officer / associate. The latter is much more technical and has higher educational requirements. A research exec may be referring to a job as simple as one of those people you see at mrt stations asking commuters to do surveys.
Fresh grad able to enter astar should have pretty good results. If interested in tech research type jobs might as well go for dso. ~3.9k for 1st class fresh.

You are the one who is confused here. Research Executive is just a title that can mean different things in different organization, it does not automatically refer to a low level survey admin. Likewise a title called Research Officer does not automatically mean that is some high class specialized researcher.

3.9k sounds low for 1st class, should be w/o NS. With NS definitely >4k.
