Opps my bad read that too fast. MIT also considered private research institute haha.

TBH, those masters from those places like kaplan, etc. doesn't really help.

Hope that this fellow can make back the money he spent for that cert ,.

I am now looking for a proven company in London that can rent equipment for a children's concert. We are going to have a children's vocal concert in our city, and we need good speakers. So far, I liked this company https://www.truesoundhire.co.uk/ the most, they have the most pleasant prices and good equipment. Moreover, they are very popular in our city. Have you used the services of this company? Did you like it?
Is this service as good as you described it?

what are the chances to be converted to government contract?
Singaporean Here
I have been trying to find such threads for the longest time. I am in the same boat as you now. Also feeling unsure. But coming from the private sector, this is a good chance for me
to gain exposure in the public sector.

But my concern is the same as yours. How is the experience so far?

Almost zero chances of converting to govt contract. Even for govt short term contract, there is zero chance of converting to normal contract/ perm. This means there is no salary increment, benefit and bonuses, ending up you will feel unbalanced and unfair when working alongside with your colleagues. Unless you are currently unemployed, do not go for such job.

This same applies to third party contract to big private firms.

What is your definition of short term gov contract?

Recently i signed a one yr contract. Benefits all same as perm staff, except it is contract.

Nearing the end of your contract, if there is still a continued need for your role and your performance has been good, you’ll likely receive an extension of contract. If the project has ended, there will not be an extension. If a position in your department opens up due to a perm staff resigning and you apply for it, you’ll be evaluated against both internal and external candidates. The hiring manager and final approver have their pick of candidates to choose from. These include scholars, first class honours graduates and people with more experience in the field than you. Given such stiff competition, you should weigh how you stand in the pool of candidates. You should also know if you were hired to work on a short term project, there will not be a permanent opening to apply to once the project ends.
