The increment % was not actually that high. What I quoted was my pay at the March point of every year. I've gotten some pay adjustment at different points in the year. Below should be a better representation of my pay jump. I believe I'm just a average ordinary worker. not a scholar, and my advancement is definitely not the high flyer type.
And I am in BO.
Date Amount Increase % Remarks
Mar-04 $2,350 NA Fresh Grad
Jan-05 $2,610 $260 11.06% Annual Increment
Jul-05 $2,900 $290 11.11% Changed Bank
Aug-06 $3,500 $600 20.69% Changed Bank
Aug-07 $3,850 $350 10.00% Pay Adjustment
Oct-07 $4,100 $250 6.49% Promotion
Mar-08 $4,400 $300 7.32% Annual Increment
Mar-10 $4,575 $175 3.98% Annual increment
Aug-10 $5,300 $725 15.85% Promotion
Mar-11 $5,700 $400 7.55% Annual Increment

I completed my undergraduate studies in BA Psychology at SIM Global education and am only waiting for the official graduation now. I haven't been able to look for a full-time job for months and now there is one job which is willing to hire me on a part-time basis (about 30 hours per week) and the pay they offered me is $1000 (excluding CPF contribution). When I asked how much would a full-time job there pay me, they said it'll only be SLIGHTLY more than $1000. Am I very underpaid?

That 38% promotional increment u got is out of this world!! ($4,138 - $5,700). Better than a job switch. Why do you want to leave when they give such unbelieveable promotional increment?

Note the difference in the working hours, and do also note that this is a small sample size, as yk89 mentioned, other people of the cohort have received better offers.

Yes that's a huge increment! But he wanted to leave because the next job pays higher
Btw, I'm also looking around at other jobs, but wondering why in general, companies' management associate programmes usually state working exp must be NO MORE than 2 or 3 years? So those with more working exp are ruled out?
