I am actually. Bonuses paid out this year (for bumper FY2021) was 3-6months for ops — received 5 months myself. Average year in GS ops is 3 months (probably paying the most out of all BB ops).
And no, promoting *every* year for 6 years would not be VP. A > SA > Assoc > Snr Assoc > VP. High flyers do it in 5 years as someone said earlier.

Its clear that:
1. GS ops > Local bank
2. GS ops < BNP
How about GS ops vs HSBC/SCB (FO but like commercial/corporate banking)?

Been on both sides. GS ops and now local bank FO. Its a myth that all FO ( even if u exclude the consumer banking stuff that sells to aunties) pays better than GS ops. In local banks, not difficult to find FO teams that may be on parity or worse than GS ops. The only positive is it gives them a better chance to lateral into foreign banks with better pay
