Just know your basic aircraft knowledge aircraft and maybe some hands-on skills, display your passion (if you have any) and don't try to answer questions or try to 'wing it' to impress them, engineers hate these types of ppl. If you wanna 'wing' u should join another industry, ppl die when u try to 'wing it' in this industry. Most importantly, you should dress to look the part, st need mature workers, not some smartie pants or yps who join because they couldn't find any other job offerings outside. And don't tell them you join because u heard the OT pays well, it pays the same as any other engineering firms outside as a blue-collar worker. Above the age of 28 +/-, no one is willing to work OT anymore over here, only those foreigners whom have nth else to do in their rental apt and will want to because of the conversion rates for the purchase of their multiple lands overseas.

The golden era of aviation have ended. With all 4 poly & Uni providing avaition course, the amount of ppl joining aviation maintenence have increased thru out the years, leading to a suppress in the salary compensation. Most of Sg avaition related industries deal in maintenance, not usually in R&D as compared to OEM,USA or europe. so usually graduates end up in the main 3 companies ST, SIA and SIAEC... etc. old bird(10 to 15 years ago) have enjoyed the payscale system when the can clock over time and boost their salary and cpf contribution MAX asa they pass out as a lae. Nowaday, to pass out is hard and to have a decent salary and OT is even harder. OT start to capped. increment as per national standard 1.5% to 2%. As new ppl join in, the salary is been depressed, as the higher paid Old bird is still been employed. End of the day, its cost management. some companies even employ other country technician/lae which lower the cost further. 1 of the reason, sg still employing sg ppl is due to the local employees headcount if given a choice, all technicians and lae will be from other cheaper countries, meanwhile just feeding all those old bird lae till they retire...

Please don't only look at License Aircraft engineer. Try workshop engineer. Eagle services asia has the same siaec union but our payscale is higher than LAE. Monthly with OT will be 10-12k. Afm earns more roughly around 15k. Our yearly bonus is 4mths.

Don't dream about ot. There's not much ot in siaec. 10 years exp you will only cross over to EE1B.

3870 basic if EE1B
1500 license
Shift allowance 150 roughly
Uniform allowance 67

End of the day, please be a workshop engineer in Eagle services asia. 2nd years as an engineer, you can hit 7k with ot.

How do i get in eagle service asia?. Is a degree in aerospace enough? Cause currently I have an option to become an LAE with SIAE but with a training of 28months before I become a LAE. During training there is an allowance of $2500 for 28months. Of course I have taken all my CAAS papers and cleared M2 to M17. Between I'm on a B1 track. just curious also whats the starting salary in SIAEC once I become an LAE with no experience?
