Yay that’s right. Total compensation increase is negligible though. What’s the bonus like for say middle/back office.
Any further advise much appreciated!

Can you share what is the timeline from the time you apply to called up for interview, how many interviews total before offer and timeline in between each stage?
Also, have they done background screening yet and how long did they take, what do they look into?

The max you can try is your current draw × 1.2, 20% increament. Anything beyond this number, don't waste your time.

why do you say so?
hearsay the bank is rather generous and a good paymaster. can easily snag a 25-30% increment if you clinch a role there

DBS AVP currently drawing $7200
JP offers 9800 for me to join them as an associate.
Should I join JP?
Will the demotion in rank but increment in pay have a positive or negative impact on my career?
Anyone can advise? thanks in advance.

JPM is bulge bracket. It is a higher tier than DBS.
U can command higher pay if u can stay for 2 yrs.
Ur resume will be shiny.

I say see who is your boss. If your boss in jpm is of a certain race and nationality then avoid. Coz you will end up as saikang warrior with no hope of promotion.
