Really depends on the team you join. The younger tech teams offers decent learning opportunities but that's really only a subset of the entire ST

nowadays ppl only want to see shiny dough first. what learning opportunity is to them?

This is very optimistic. Usually 3 (if good performance) to 5 years or more. Also, note that recommended for promotion doesn't mean will get promoted. Still depends on the management decision.
