Confirm is the case. Turf wars between useless govt agencies are damn common lah. Anything policy related or public facing, there is some credit grabbing and blame pushing always...

I believe what OP meant was that was a civil war. It was 2 depts within IMDA which were fighting each other. From this we can tell how "collaborative" it is to work there.

For anyone out there who is still considering a move to IMDA, here is an analogy to deter you from doing so.

There are many malaysian workers who cross the border to work in singapore. Bus drivers, cooks, beauticians, hairdressers, retail staff etc. Why do they do it? Because there are better prospects here than in malaysia. They dare to take the leap and are now earning more than those back at home.

Similarly at IMDA, there are shitloads people including myself who have quit over the last 2 years simply because they are aware that there are better prospects out there waiting for them and they possess the competence to seize these opportunities. They quit not only because of better prospects but also because they refuse to subject themselves to the torment that exists in IMDA. It is evident from this thread and glassdoor that the toxic culture is real, can't be POFMA-ed.

What is left in this damned place now are 1) people who are too lazy to embark on a job search and are content to quiet quit every day, 2) people who are too inept to land a job elsewhere and only good (or bad) enough to do generic admin work which IMDA offers, 3) bootlickers who have managed to scale the corporate ladder, no need further elaboration on this.

These are the people who will become your new colleagues if you decide to join. Go ahead if you want to be one of them.

What so hard to believe? Coz many organisations rely on HR to do their job and make the first cut of potential candidates based on unbiased hiring requirements, and hiring managers could be seeing the top recommended 3 candidates’ CVs from HR for the first time.

Your response seems like another IMDA HR nonsense, whereby IMDA HR does nothing but being just a postman and forward everything to the hiring manager to filter which candidate the hiring manager wants to interview.

I do not understand your analogy about malaysians coming to singapore to work with the story you telling.
What are you saying? Malaysians came to Singapore to work after some times, leave Singapore before Singapore is a sheety place like IMDA?

I do not understand your analogy of Malaysians coming to Singapore to work, as compared to yr work experience in IMDA

Got one more category lah, people who want to leave but are having trouble finding another place due to IMDA's reputation.

Have a couple of friends in financial industry, also say staff from IMDA, sibeh cannot make it. They just throw random words and phrases around which no one understand. And ask them to generate some reports using excel, don’t know how. Sibeh sien.

Not sure turf war civil war got what difference lol.

After the talk, my friends from private said that they thought PDPC and IMDA were the same and the guidelines come out under PDPC's logo, so how come the Director said a few times that "the advisory guidelines were drafted by MY team, not PDPC".

How to reply them?

I think whether you're from PDPC or IMDA, at the very least for public facing events, present a united front and promote the advisory guidelines together right.
