Join IMDA to learn from the worst
The quality of talent in that toilet bowl is really bad. Lack of tech knowledge, poor communication skills, think at a slow pace...an agency where the worst of the worst public officers are at...

I agree with OP. I was in another stat board before joining IMDA and left to join yet another stat board. I noticed the gulf between IMDA and the other 2 stat boards. People in IMDA are simply not as well read and eloquent as their peers from other parts of the gov. But like what was discussed in this thread, there isn't a need to hire top quality talents as the roles there are administrative in nature.

Depends on which side of the house you joined. Regulatory or Industry Development. Regulatory work is in general more technical in nature while ID is not. Employee satisfaction is in general much higher in Reg than in ID.

But IMDA ppl got good ppt skills. The slide deck design is on par with consulting firms.

Tell me which min or stat board is not administrative in nature? All in garment are paper pushers with minimal technical knowledge.
