please dont sprout utter nonsense / complete BS if you are un-informed.
majority of fresh local uni grads join civil service at MX13.
they only get promoted to MX12 after 1 or 2 years of probation, depending on the individual M or SB.
unless u join as experienced personnel or mid-career switch, then that's another story...

yes, I grad with first class and a master degree, but I don't think that contributed to my mx grade. because I am pretty sure all my fresh grad colleagues joined together with me that time started with MX12. I suspect if HR had adjusted the mx grade for fresh degree holders some time ago.

Usually with a full time master degree right after first degree (some more you have 1st class), they will give you MX 12, this is to "compensate" that one year that you missed out for promotion as compared to those who joined after their degree. I still see such practice till today. As for the rest who had adjusted which I truly believe is not all, likely got adjusted due to changes in starting salary. Today, i have seen those who joined after their first degree usually is MX 13 and after 1st year will be promoted to MX12. Then those who have the same qualification as you will be MX12 so to allow you to be on par.

Calling ********. I don’t have a masters degree and was offered MX12 as a fresh grad. Not a scholar.
You are not informed at what HR has been doing these days. I’m not the only one. Most lf the people in my batch were offered MX12 as well.

hmmm...my guess here is that different ministries may handle the offer differently...for those offered immediately with mx12, was it a contract or perm position?
