No OT. Very good hours and environment. The progression for KYC is good as well and have many colleagues move onto risk and compliance role in foreign bank as well as buy side firm.
2) What is the pay progression like?
analyst - 3.5k
associate - ~6k
senior associate - >6.5k
2 years to move from analyst to associate and another 2 years to senior associate/manager. DBS has good progression and is stable with good bonuses for KYC peeps since they are growing their business rapidly

Nice troll. Even KYC in a bulge bracket bank won't have such good progression, DBS so nice to its employee?

KYC is the volume that makes it tedious in the long run.
Most banks will have OT. I have been in KYC for close to 4 years and getting 6k excluding bonus.
But life is tough.

It is more of the job nature of KYC. Is there something you like about DBS?
KYC is tough everywhere even for the local banks. I have been with 2 banks and now I am in a payments company.
Given the job nature, I will go to where I am being paid. I dont really bother about which company so long they can pay me.

Hi,
What I mean "step" is the leaning curve. Because whatever you will be doing next, most likely involve more judgement calls and more work, and not everyone is prepared to do more or think more, but that is a determining factor to see if you could promote to Senior Associate faster then eventually AVP, all within 5-7 years.

I do not know where you get the numbers from, like someone had mentioned only the Associate is relevant.
Analyst ($2700 - $3500) - 2 to 3 years to Associate
Associate ($3700 - $4700) - 2 to 4 years to Senior Associate, depending on performance
Senior Associate ($4800 - $6000) - 2 to 4 years to AVP, depending on performance
AVP ($6200 - $9000) - No specific years to be promoted to VP, this one really depends

Shouldn't you ask all these questions during interview? the role might not be able to offshore completely but it can be easily replaced by technology and fresh grad taking your job few years down the road.

In SCB, all those doing KYC are generally all fresh grads and they have a very high turnover rate. Many XMM in their dept. Only about 3-4 slightly more senior staff the rest all churning freshies.
