people really working in stat board will know. unless you left the service and then come back with new skills, usually the increment would not be more than 10% per annual (even for A performer).
Well...it is not a story. It is a personal sharing of my salary changes (i.e. Constituting from Merit Increment, Promotion Increment, Annual Salary Review) over the last three years. I agree the ministries uses a 10% increment per annum as a guide to salary increment but it is not limited to this % when other salary reviews, promotion increment are factored in.

Anyway, if my earlier sharing gets discredited, then I must say I have provided truthful information, of which people can choose to believe it or not.

Also, it is a testament that your starting class of degree, whether you're a government scholar or not, does not really matter. If you truly deserve the salary scaling for the hard work you put in, your superiors will reward you for what they see and recognized.

Ever since, I've moved on to private sector recently after learning that my contract wasn't going to be renewed due to government-wide ministries/stat boards on a headcount freeze.

Pretty bummed out because I was hoping for a conversion to permanent staff but nonetheless I made a good impression with my immediate supervisors and got a stellar letter of commendation. As of now, I got a pay bump to 4.2k after moving into a FMCG company. Btw I'm in the finance field.

The stat board I was in was fantastic, work-life balance was brilliant. Compared to where I am now, it's a huge change but I can cope because the 2 years working before I got my BSc was in a MNC too.
I seem to be exactly in your position. Somehow it's pretty difficult to find a job how given the current economy.

In any case, thank you very much for your response!

It probably is equivalent to a B grader.

Of course in pvt you can go on to earn way more.
4 years only manage $1.4k ?

Feel sad for you, in private sector..you can easily get over $500-$800 increment every year.

It's true that private sectors generally give better increments but the $500-$800 increment is not homogeneous. Also, the salary regulations are different. If you're in it for money, dont come to the public sector.

Any well read readers out there would know the pros and cons of working in private vs public sector. Salary increment is but one of them.

Do factor in $/work-hours too, public sector may be paying better...

Don't think there will be many firms this year giving more than $500 pay increment for rank and file staff this year. If they give you, have to beware maybe you are in the retrenchment bracket.

Hi all,

Currently I'm MX 16. I graduated last yr (Dip). Went for intv and it was successful. However, because mine is consider a transfer of service, the new ministry carried forward my scheme n benefits.

Will they consider to give me MX 14 based on my current qualifications?
