ST App recommendation: Manufacturing jobs most at risk, NTUC warns
Manufacturing jobs most at risk, NTUC warns http://www.straitstimes.com/news/sin...warns-20150116 (via ST Android App)

trying to raise productivity but just not happening. manufacturing employers still opting for cheaper labour /cutting jobs as it reduces overhead costs.

As an "expert" IT guy, I presume you are expert some of the below
1) Database (SQL, Oracle)
2) Network architecture
3) Wireless (Cellular and SRW)
4) System administration
5) Scripting languages
6) Security (CISSP...etc)
7) Internet programming languages and tools (html/CSS, Java, ASP.net, scala, Perl, PHP..etc)

Let list down one and I will test you and see how good you are. Common, you are a high IQ guy who ace in exam.
Yah we all know you "is" an engineer... LOL...

Just stop talking too much moron. For those who claim EECS engineers and who claim that they make a lot of monies, just list your specialization and I will test you out here and see if you are fake.

There are many people nothing else better to do keep bragging how much he earns a an engineer. I will give you the reality.

You guys has no chance.

The big bank IT department are full of parasitic FT Indians. Their sworn aim is to ship entire Indian village here and they will give all sort of excuse why Singaporeans are not cut for the jobs.

There are people who brag they are high flyer. Everywhere including shitt collector have their high flyer but you have a higher chance to make it in life by going elsewhere.

170K package is not unattainable. Tech firms (esp US ones) big or small pays between 80~200K to their engineers that perform various functions, from presales, product engineering/management, delivery, consulting etc.

Both locals and expats have equal chance.

Even Taiwan TSMC paid top rock star engineer USD 1 million a year. Everything is attainable. What I am interested is what most engineers are earning.

You can search job streets and you will find plenty of job ads budgeting their graduate engineer for around SGD2.5k.

Glass half full or glass half empty. You choose. 80~200K range is normal in tech firms. Not talking about fresh grads or rock stars. However, these jobs are not typically advertised on jobstreet.
