How many yrs working experience do you have? Both of you are in fund accounting...? I'm guessing you left out some impt details..there's no way 2 SIM 2011 grads fund accountants can make 180k basic pay in total..

2 person 180k end up 1 guy 90k which is quite low for a IB firm. Many IB fresh grads already making more than that.

Graduated with a 2nd lower.

Streetsmart but not financially savvy. At 150 k pa, I'd drive a Toyota and stay in a Punggol HDB.

Started working since 15 years old at Macdonalds. Gave tuition at 17. During Poly, invested and got my first pot of $8000 through FX trading. Got into OCS, went into CBRE, salary of approx $1400 a month, save up at least half every month. Bought blue chip stocks during the recession in 2009. I rejected SMU, NUS and went into SIM UOL due to time flexibility. became a Financial Consultant for Great Eastern. I managed to hit Million Dollar Round Table during the final year of Uni. Now I have 10 financial consultants under me.

Currently invested 60% in Blue Chip dividend Shares, 20% in FX, 10% in Bonds and 10% in Unit Trust.

Being street smart is the key to success. Studying hard and getting good grades can only get you a good job, but a job is not a career and it does not bring you to greater heights. You only get trapped in the cycle of poverty in Singapore.

I'm an ex banker, used to earn a lot. Had to stop working due to health reasons. Owns 3 fully paid condos. Income dropped to only $60k pa (only rental income). Cut spending to $40k pa. Not much luxuries except the nice condo living, had to sell away the sports car. Net worth only $3m. Need to nurse myself back to health. All these years I have been paying tons of income taxes, just wondering what kind of unemployment benefits I can get since now I can't work. Any advice?
