Why dont u ask HR at that point instead of coming here to ask?

typical example of the cookie cutter - everything ok, hmm, yes sir, yes mdm, no question.
Your salary your future the stakeholders there you don't want to ask, then come internet and expect a forum full of trolls to give u a correct answer?

I tell u the truth la.
it really depends.
after i exited, i went out to locum for a full 4 months to chiong about 25K a month.
I was ranked very highly during residency all the years and actually got number 2 nation wide in the FM exit exam.
( Yes, the PDs get a list of the top few performers an hour before the result was released, so i got a text message from PD congratulating me i passed. The PDs do not know your examination number to ensure fairness. It was much later another faculty tell me i was rank number 2 nation wide, my name appear on the top scorer list and hence they knew i had pass)
Anyway, i was set to join one of the smaller chains as a partner anchor because i really rake it in for them and they find me a good fit. It was a handsome salary with profit sharing.
But a few of the faculty sat me down and encourage me to join the public sector. I showed them my offer from the chains. Maybe in the end someone really like me, so the cluster came back with a counter offer, didn't quite match the private offer but it was enough to entice me to join back because its a kick knowing you are paid more than your batch mates..hehe

How can HR tell u this straight away ? I think ' it depends' is the best answer they can give u.

You are the dumb one. ranked #2 nation wide, raking it in for chain means you have good people skills and business acumen AND......you got suckered to stay with OPS.

Sigh.

I guess you could still go private anytime.

Trust yourself and believe in yourself.

"It depends" you also question?

Please man. Since when are salaries and remuneration packages not negotiated between employer and employee?

Pretty much everywhere is variable.

Sounds like you are the sort that thinks everything with pay and salary is rigid and dependent on a set formula and algorithm?

World doesn't work like that. You need to have more experience in life. Many Singaporean kids get into medicine never worked in their lives until they graduated from Medical school. And their salaries all set in stone. So this is a skewed unrealistic unreal and false perspective of how people are paid and how their remuneration packages are determined.

That is a fact.

But this sort of thing really only occurs for doctors in Singapore. Cos it is all controlled by MOH.

It is not the same for lawyers and accountants and engineers.

And it is really a one off. After that everyone has different increments and bonuses.

So get your head around the fact it REALLY is "It depends".

Grow up from the student mindset.

If you want better pay you got to work for it and more important market and sell yourself and FIGHT for it! It isn't presented to you on a plate and then you take what is presented to you.

Gosh you better get some mentors to guide you through life.

He dumb or not I not sure
But if he is earmarked for office , his life in public confirm better
Stable 8 to 5
No need weekend, no need evening
First few years maybe not huat comparatively but it will turn

500k a year in public bossing people around beats 700k running a business
anytime

Those in OPS , how do you lot not get jaded?
I left OPS , could not take the walk in patients on a daily basis, was working beyong my capacity on a daily basis with no job satisfaction, basically 5-10 mins per pt hence shooing them out.

I am now locuming full time, working in a few clinics and enjoying my time with patients and having more mental sanity. I might work longer hours on some days, but i do it volountarily, i earn more, im happier and patients are satisfied.

When will the management learn that a HAPPY DOC = HAPPY PATIENT.
