But the bonuses are pretty low, usually 1-2 months for juniors.

It is really not worth it if you're in it for the money. The salary is peanuts for the long hours that you work.
Are those salary figures after 3 years working / training? I know law has their own classification of NQ, newly qualified lawyer.

Supposed I join Drew and Napier, where would I be, both rank and salary after 3 years? Probably those more familiar with the process can elaborate on what licenses and exams you'll take in your first year and what is your salary when you're doing it.

Wow 5k sounds like a lot. Junior doctors dont get paid that much and they work even longer hours.

I don't really like the comparison with auditors. I have many auditor friends working for big4. Their hours are along but hardly till 11 pm unless it is during the peak months. For the legal profession it seems that anytime of the year can be peak period.

For the prospective student, I happen to have many friend graduating from the local faculties. I can tell you that it is not easy to secure a TC and getting a TC is not the end of your worries. A newly qualified advocate and solicitor is not going be able to start a law firm. You will be surprised to know that not many corporate values the fact that you are called to the bar unless you are going to be their in house counsel. That said most of the in-house counsel jobs goes to the lawyers who have at least 2-5 years practice experience

My friend is at Drew and Napier now.

You basically get $500 increments every year on every other team except for DS (Davinder Singh) team where they get $1000 more.

So essentially, you make about $8.5k after 3 years.

^^ I wrote my answer pretty hastily and I realized it wasn't clear.. How it works in D&N is that for most teams, you will get $500. In DS's team, you get $1k.

So most probably, you will earn somewhere from $7- 8.5k after 3 years.

Consider that fresh private banking analysts start off at about $7k.

Thank you for the info. Even though it is less than private banking analysts, I still feel it's a good progression.

Any idea on average bonus during the 1st to 3rd year period? A range is good. 0 to 3 months bonus?

My friends tell me it is usually about 1-3 months. A couple of associates have been getting 1 month of late.
