I was qualified not too long ago but can clarify that my peers, even though who received second lowers, all have managed to find jobs/TCs. The lowest TC pay I have gathered from my new sources was just slightly below $800. Never have I heard of any unpaid TC positions. It is just a matter of finding what they like. I am a little perplexed at the claims made in such news, whereby they make talk about how trainees have to go to the extent pay the firms to get TCs". On the other hand, I know of smaller boutique firms (including the one I was working at) who were struggling to get TC applicants.

Maybe someone could give a fair statement on why is there such a disparity between reality and what was portrayed in these claims or rumours.

Someone who is paying the firm for a TC will not tell u they are doing so.
That’s how they escape detection.

Also cheapo firms who doesn’t intend to retain most of their trainees can pretendpretend keep them on for a couple months or a year. Then slowly let them go one by one. Then won’t look bad redy. Trainee so cheap. Why pay for lawyers.

Then come to do interviews to let ppl think it’s the norm. Got lowly paid TC good enuf alr.

Low TC pay reflects low associate pay.

"slightly below $800" vs getting nothing. Is nothing much at all.

Even $1.5-2k is toilet paper money in todae's terms. That is the pay of a maid or a Maccs worker. Yet you ask, "why is there such a disparity". Joke's on you.
