We should all be wary of the #metoo movement and the ultra-feminist agenda being forced down our collective throats.

I hope CY gets sued.

It is not entirely fair either to expect all past victims to testify publicly. The personal cost is extremely high in terms of family and career damage, not to mention added psychological stress. To say they "should" do this or that is.....a bit high-handed. It should also be kept in mind that Imran's alleged victims were on the international circuit, and not bound to Singapore.
The allegations are not new and have been whispered in the debate community for quite some time. They picked up in June, when it was rumoured that Imran had been selected as a PAP candidate. The whispers getting louder, and the PAP dropping Imran, are correlated but causal link is unknown.

Just saw on CY insta that he got served with the writ. Pretty sure he's gonna lose this big time.
No alleged victims are likely to step up to testify for him. Why would they? If the rumours are true they're from our poorer neighbours around the region. Who would want to come all the way to Singapore to take down some random lawyer involved in a spat with a wannabe opposition candidate?
Anyway to be blunt, some of these poor countries where these alleged victims hail from are not the most progressive when it comes to womens rights anyway. Sexual harassment and assault is probably a fact of life there. Only in Singapore do we give so much dam n about all these meetoo patriarchy crap

Law pays lower than tech now. In the public sector, GovTech pays higher than JLC and AGC for fresh graduates. In the private sector, financial institutions pay higher than the Big 4 law firms.
Quit law, go to tech.

I thought he wanted to be served with the writ of defamation and gave his address? God forbid, his poor family having to pick up the bill
Or his supporters having to pay.

Quite unlikely to find them in an SG-specific chat. Why would you study Civil Law (as opposed to Common Law) just to come back to Singapore to practice. If you take a Netherlands LLM, I assume you're looking to stay in europe or do research work at a university.
