I have no connections. Worked hard in NUS, topped the class, topped part B, have been at a top tier magic circle firm last 5 years. Firm believer in meritocracy.

Too much. Today I just realized that in a certain law firm in Singapore near the Raffles Place/ Marina Bay Area, everyone (vast majority) seems to be connected.
Got billionaire family children, got owner of this MNC son/daughter, got IB CEO son/daughter, got ex judge son/daughter.
See alr I feel so poor and insignificant. My parents only drive taxi.

Then what are you suggesting?
Who has passion for this? It’s just a job. To earn a living

How is life as lawyer tough for a rich kid?
He is the one with connections to bring business for the firm.
I have seen many who rise to be partners because of his ability to bring business and money.

I am poster 2679, because I wanted to practice corporate law but rejected from NUS and SMU. I was in the deans' honors list of my cohort in Temasek Polytechnic diploma in Law and Manager.
Therefore, I went overseas to pursue the lawyer route.
