How about salary offered by mid tier firms?

too little. but no one goes into big 4 for the money isn't it? everyone is there just for the experience. clock a few years and leave after that.

You can try asking for $4.5k. The pay scale jumps rapidly after you become a partner.

Asking for 4.5k in big 4. Good joke from that guy. In big 4 you only TAKE what is given, you don't ask, you don't negotiate, you don't do anything except TAKE or LEAVE it.

Big4 starting is 2.8k +/-
Mid tier firms start at 2.5k +/-

Also they do not give AWS and very little variable bonus, but salary increase for the first 3-4 years is quite fast.

Here is the career pay scale for a big4 employee:
A1 - 2850
A2 - 3350
S1 - 4350
S2 - 4850
S3/AM - 5350

If all the fresh graduates unite to ask for higher pay, you will see how the Big 4 panic. Anyway, the Big 4 more or less set the starting salary standards. Sounds like Big 4 are more united than the grads.....
