Career advice(Accountancy)

Hi, I'm studying in a local uni and I'm currently in my final year. I have a degree in accountancy and minor in finance. What are the career opportunities that I should strongly consider? My results are average.
I have thought about joining the Big 4 but the incentives are really bad. Any other suggestions?

You acknowledge that your results are average and yet seem to want non-average employment. What exactly did you want out of this post?

You should ask your strengths are and what you want to do instead of asking others here to direct you where to go.

Since you did average, going Big 4 (that is if they are willing to take you) is a chance for you to redeem yourself.

If you're lazy yet want comfortable salary, then go join civil service.

I agree, there is no miracle pill for mediocrity.

Dude just want to find out what I can do with my degree, be is mncs or smes. Is it a must for acct degree holder to be an auditor?

no. but if u are not from sim, I suggest u join the big4 for a few years. kpmg don't have any grade qualification.

if you are from sim, good luck. big 4 wont accept u

Just join a big4 lor. Good MNCs only accept strong qualifications for MAP, you either join as big4 or some entry finance exec in smaller mncs.

Accounting admin support job bonus is very little one, if wanna complain incentives not good then go join sales.

Do you know what are the future prospects if I join big4? Which big4 has a better working environment? I only know that life in Deloitte is tough as they are expanding fast. Not sure if it's true.

All 4 are long working hours & average pay low bonus lah. It's a standard procedure for any average finance/accounting grad to go through 3-4 years of this real school before you have some marketability.

If you want to slack then just join any corp finance in a sme as accounting/finance exec lor. But your cv will be very limited and progression slower than those who go through big 4.
