Is it a norm for the bank to get external people to interview for a position that is not advertised yet?

I just went for one and they claim they still have other candidates to interview but I can't find the ads anywhere with regards to that role.

In that case, I don't stand a chance. I maybe good but definitely not the best. Haha. Think they are just out there to do check on the pay check and see what their prized candidates deserved. They kept asking for my payslip when I first met them lol. Should have know that this is too good to be true for me.

Not really, recruitment agencies target fresh grads / whoever has their profile on e-financial careers / jobsdb / jobstreet etc.

The term 'headhunted' is rather loosely used. They just find whoever they think can fit the job profile and whack so that they can get commission.

Thanks for the advice. I will see how it eventually turns out to be.

i have just joined a japanese bank recently, and i was told the bank was under the bank union? anyone knows when will the union announce the variable bonus?

i join the japanese bank with the same mentality as TS, hoping to gain exp in the bank and move on after 1 or 2 years.

for those who left jap bank with variable bonus component, anyone manage to include the variable bonus as your annual package and present it to your potential employers?

btmu gives out VB in june every year..every different from other local/non-jap foreign banks..

however the qualifying period is jan-dec of the previous year..which means there is a 6mth lag to bonus payout..

for the jap union increment..it will be in sept every year
