Lol. about the same. I got my MX9 in 2011. But I started in 2000. After which I quit for MBA and now in private.

2000-2011 is 11 years, you left at MX9. I would expect to make at least 5 digits after 10 years in CS. That would mean comparable to private sector and hence joining CS is a possibility.
