As for salary point, it's possible that this officer is drawing a higher salary than peers because PSC scholars are automatically emplaced on PSLP/FLP which has its own allowance. (Not the same as the RA that KPs draw.)

The list is supposed to show only gross salary without bonus or allowances. Bonus, RA, FLP payment, PSLP payment etc should not be factored into that list or it will just confuse people.

Yup. Some rumours float around that there is a hard minimum time-in-grade of 2 years, but this is not true at all. The system allows for an officer to be evaluated for promotion every year, but of course it is very rare. A 2 year gap is more common for high performing officers who are not top-tier scholars.

Yup not true. There's a colleague in my school that was promoted to geo 5 one year, and then promoted to seo1 in the next year.

Oh pls. If you have worked in HQ, you will realise scholars are everywhere, even if it is a so called farmer, they will at least have a masters.

With the amount of continual PSCs given out, the balance will be upset

Isn't that already the case?
Applies for whole of civil service

Anyone have any idea how work in HQ is like? Is it more stressful than work in school? Will posting to HQ meant better prospect in the future?

Personally, as someone who has been to hq, it depends on whether you prefer to deal with students or adults , and whether you prefer office life or teaching. I did a 3 year hq stint and hated it - some branches can be very toxic, long hours, little work life balance and although I got Bs every year in HQ, don't think my career prospects improved much at all after. There is enhanced posting for hq officers so I guess there's a higher chance you can get posted out as a KP or ST (which I did, posted out as KP)
In retrospect, I should have just gone to another school and gotten internally groomed and promoted to a KP. It's more about plant yourself where you will bloom, honestly. Look for a high needs school where you can showcase your capability.
