Gotta say, some people really abuse the term 'mid career'. Had an ex colleague who worked in the private sector for 3 years after graduating from uni. Quit and went into teaching and deaevies himself as a mid career switch.
Bro, you only worked for three years outside and realised it wasn't for you. Lol

i have a couple of contacts, current MOE teachers ranging from 8 to 10 years in the ministry, and they each draw a salary of at least 10k base, not including their generous annual bonus, performance bonus, connect plan, etc.

Fake news. With the highest merit increment at the GEO grades being less than $250, and promotion+merit increments hardly exceeding $550 these days, it is mathematically impossible for a first-career 8-10 YOE Education Officer to hit 10k base.

9 yrs, female, HOD, NUS grad, GEO5, about 7k plus (she said it's below 8k)
Those 8-10 yrs drawing 10k base is only a handful.

Sounds about right. Adding one more:

No point being angry here. This thread is full of 2 types of people: trolls who are not even EOs, and older EOs who have enjoyed high increments and fast progression pre-2015 and have no idea what it is like trying to climb out of the deep geo3/4 progression trench that is relatively new, while thinking that the youngsters all have it easy.

ya all trolls here especially the one that claim she is GEO5A.
you need to be at salary ceiling of GEO5 to even start being considered for promotion to 5A. But I guess if you are not even a teacher, you will not know this.

If you wanna troll, please come up with something more believable. The ceiling for SEO 1 is only 10k+. So many SHs and HODs are not even promoted to SEO1 yet. They are stuck at GEO 5 with 7k+ doing a lot of work. A lot of teachers are still in GEO 3 and 4. The range of their salaries has been uploaded in this forum.
