There are more teachers who take public transport than those who drive. Just count the number of cars parked in the school, and compare with the total number of teachers in the school.

Not true. While teachers are indeed the largest group, there are plenty of civil servants on other schemes. There are 86,000 public servants, in which around 50,000 are non-teachers.
Let them activate these 50k civil servants for their elections.

Do you have many colleagues who take leave to go for medical appointments or surgeries during term time? Would your school leader allow or ask them to reschedule to a time when they don't have anything after school?

Dunno why people think have car = earn a lot. Many people give up other luxuries (e.g. 2x holidays to Europe per year) in order to own a car because they value the benefits of having a car. If you don't value a car the same way they do, obviously you will say they "cannot afford" it. But you can happily own and maintain a car well with 2k a month or less. Split costs with spouse, 2k a month is accessible to middle income earners. Not cheap, but accessible. Don't have to earn 6 figure p.a. TC to own a car for sure.
