Wah lao you wanna bluff also should use excel spreadsheet calculate first la. Give you jump every year at 50% also cannot reach 17k at 29. You mean annual pay right

07-08>>annual increment = 1k = 28.5%
08-09>>annual increment + promotion = 1.2k = 26.6%
09-10>>although change dept, annual increment = $800 = 14%
2011>>jump ship = +60% increment

why all your annual increment so high one, my ST engineering annual increment = 3.5% only
promotion also = 4% only
AND THERE IS NO SUCH THING IN STENGINEERING THAT GIVE YOU +$500 INCREMENT FOR PROMOTION EVEN IF YOU ARE THE TOP 1% BEST PERFORMER .

when you jump ship, your $3900 increment is even $200 more than my 3.7k salary....

At junior level they don't go by %. If your employer go by % when you are only drawing 3k plus per month, then you know you are screwed

You need to jump ship every 3-4 years if not you will lag behind the market. My bro was in Singtel, jumped ship a few times and he is 1 year younger than me. You at STE storing power for what? Now economy turning already going to get stucked for 1-2 years.

Jump when the economy is hot. Store power when economy is bad

18k oil and gas at 31. you either work harder or move out of energy to stay ahead.

my friend, you got read about the IT engineer drawing $20,000 pm at the Investment bank or not? You are in the wrong type of company. I heard STE only pay the top brass alot of money. So unless you want to wait till you are 40, you better reality check yourself and think about how to re-position yourself.

My bro is a local engineering grad from NUS. I am also local grad. Every week I hear the same sort of complain from him. So for the whole of last year, I make fun of him/ mock him (I don't really mean it but I just wanted to spur him) until our relationship also sour. I refuse to let him touch my car and also make fun of him infront of relatives.

Finally he switched job and now he is drawing at least 50% more than if he had stayed put. I am getting him to switch job again to my bank.

You need to wake up your idea if not nothing will change and next year you will come to this salary forum again
