It doesn't matter what you study at SIM. You're not getting into investment banking with a piece of toilet paper from there, period.

With all respect to SIM degree holders, but I think that as long as you're not from local unis/reputable unis from overseas, your chances of joining any form of MNCs or big local firms is as good as zero. There will be special cases but yeah you get the idea.
It's evident from the JD of most jobs esp for graduate programmes. In that case, you even need a minimum of 2nd upper from local unis to be qualified for it.
The fact is that in every top/popular jobs, there will be tons of applications from all the reputable unis and private or SIM degree holders will be in a disadvantage position for sure.
Rather than trying to aim for top companies, make do with a reasonable coy and gain valuable experience. Don't fall for the trap of aiming too high and be jobless for extended period.

Was a Foreigner. No PR. Having this so called 'trash' uni cert.
Start my first job at local company for the work that even singaporean diploma holder dont wanna do. Get paid SGD1700. My second job as contract in foreign Investment Bank. Got a decent SGD2500 with 7 days paid leave per year. Fast Forward 7 years later, I am a VP in Global Bank. Its not about the cert. Its about the step and determination you are willing to take. Dont aim 5k starting salary. Just do your best and work hard.

Yes i fully agree with what said but it's still that degree paper which leads u to ur sucess many yrs later! So conclusion is owning a decent pte degree may or maybe not help in getting an attractive starting pay but it definitely help in the long term of our career!

My degree is from uol. So my point is.. This is not a showstopper. You just need to strive and try. First step is better than no step at all.

Hi seniors, may I know what are the chances for an SIM-UOL grad to get into Big4? I am a prospective student.
Sorry if this has been asked many times before. But can we expect at least 3K starting pay for Big4 or even mid-tier firms?
Thanks for the insights.
