I graduated in 2012 from UOL. There is a lot of luck needed for it comes to job. I got a job prior to graduation back in 2012. There are obstacles along the way as well. Regardless of whether we can get into a grad program, it doesnt matter.
6 years down the road, I am working with a top MNC in the industry. I would never have expected this. I do have ex bosses referring me for roles in new companies.
My advice is to have a humble attitude, good work ethics and also be helpful to people. They will remember you for that.

I really dont want to be in a position where I finished my exams in may and waste my life everyday till I find a job.

Did you have any internships at all? Because your FCH from UOL alone means nothing. Harsh but it's the truth.

Thanks for the insights. Is it also recommended to actually try to get hold an internship before you grad?
P.s: Working as full-time now, which means I have to give up my current job if I happen to get an internship then afterwards find a job again if my internship workplace do not offer me an perm post.

I personally don't feel for 2.8K at a big 4 should be worth the sacrifice of losing your full time job to get an internship. not to put auditing roles down but you do know you are not rolling in the cash even comparing to a trading assistant who books trades. If you are really keen on getting into big 4 then its your own funeral. lol. its like a factory inside FYI

Is SIM-UOL an easy alternative to get in for all O & A lvls/local dips students? Anyone with N lvls+private diploma tried before and manage to get an offer? If not, does appealing or getting MP to write an recommendation actually works? I've called up SIM but they don't recommend me to apply...not sure if I should try. Closing date in 2 days time. Application fees close to $100.

No internship experience. But in my 2 years in UOL, I was working part time insurance sales. All the offers I am getting now are either banca spec or personal banker role but I am trying to go into a non sales role probably middle office and hence I did not accept the offers. I do receive feedbacks from recruiter saying my availability is too far away (june) to be applying now but not sure how true is that since interview and background check will probably take some time too.

Are you speaking from experience or just hearsay?

SIM UOL grad from last year with a 2nd upper. Currently working at PwC as an A1 with only an insurance internship under my belt. Luck plays a part in securing the interview, but it is definitely possible.

Graduated from UOL in 2012. Started with 2900 with 4 months bonus.
Fast forward to 2018, getting 5K with 5 months bonus.
I believe the market is still challenging for private uni graduates.
Once you started working, your experience matters much more than your UOL degree.
