in the end they just get fired and no bonus.

My question was more of if I start work now my probation ends around September. Will my prorated AWS in Dec 2022 be based on 9 months employment (6 months probation + 3 months after confirmation) or 3 months only?
No intention to leave.

oh sorry bro
yes, probation period is included part of "full-time" employment
UNLESS
your company really fked up and says otherwise in your offer letter. make sure u read. i know some tech companies have pay increments after probation, some have NO ANNUAL LEAVE during probation, etc.
i can tell u this, i was at a large US tech firm, we had a $2k wellness benefit, basically means i can buy whatever i want, gym membership, laptop, etc. it refreshes every year, period is jan to dec.
but because i was in probation for 6 months and i joined in june 2020, i couldnt use it until jan 2021... meaning i couldn't utilize the 2020's benefits and had to use the 2021's benefit.
damn lame.
