Yes, it is illegal. Not just in terms of your contract with the firm but a criminal act.

this is very serious. either tell the truth or say you have been given another offer that you are considering and then tell them later that you changed your mind

If you thought you could get away with lying about your salary, then sorry to say you don't have the brains for the role. Just do others a favour and turn down the job for someone more deserving pls.

agree, I don't want someone who is dishonest. you don't deserve the job. if they ask for your cpf statement, you are gone.
