Yes Govtech is even better than FAANG.

The reality is that if you stay in Singapore all your life then there's no point going FAANG. Govtech pay is on par with FAANG.

If you are going to go western countries then of course FAANG is better. No one overseas know what Govtech even is.

Govtech is a good deal, even if FAANG pays slightly more. Esp given the climate of layoffs and protracted recession.

In terms of actual technical sophistication/challenge, yes. In terms of having a hipster "tech culture" with ping pong tables/ nap pods/artisanal coffee then no. Pay is comparable.

interesting. thats good to know. if FAANG/ByteDance and Big Tech are tier 1s, i would place GovTech at a solid tier 1.5, DSTA/DSO/CSA/CSIT would be tier 2 and NCS and ST tier 3. Ranking in terms of pay, visibilitu, exit to better opportunities and culture.

er ncs and st are tier 1000. would rather join a non-tech mnc/stat board than be a ncs/st "consultant" (slave). black mark on cv.
