DB is crap too, that one I won't deny. But if you really going to base off standard based on the starting pay, you're in for a rude shock. This is not something just with numbers (sure you can go filter it on Glassdoor for senior level pays and see it for yourself), but every person in finance knows the exits there are crap and pay **** at senior levels. If you don't know that, and instead rely on league numbers, you sound like someone still in university

Oh I just realized maybe it's best that you don't have the sources. Just continue to believe in the prestige of Nomura! Maybe even get a role there since you think it's great  Nomura is awesome! Super good progression and pay bumps. Hope you enjoy your career there!

I'm glad that you've admitted to your mistakes. With your logic, you don't belong in high finance anyway 😄

I'm not working in Nomura. There may be American BBs or buyside firms that pay better than Nomura, I don't know, i cannot speak for every firm in the industry. But to treat Nomura as equal or in your case, dismiss that they have poor exit opps or pay poorly at senior levels is just plainly wrong. I have provided the source, keep in mind 25k is just the base.
Anyway, don't keep your hopes too high. Don't think you'll even make it to Maybank in the 1st place 🤣

There are maybe only 2 or 3 BBs you would turn Nomura down for.
JPM, MS and Goldman.
Yup that's about it.
