The distinguished engineer (DE) is a Band 4 role and can go to MD level as well.

I've seen SCV "ciso" and heads of cyber at B5 M23 RANGE,
and I've seen heads of cyber at b4 range.
Asso directors, managers, can be b6.
Directors and senior managers can be b5.
I knew a colleague who had a title director but was a b6.
He was mean to my other female colleague whose title was only lead but was an M23.
Shortly before he left, the promo list was published congratulating a list of names on achieving b5 and he wwas on it. So we found out the director was an inflated title and the lead had a higher m number.

SCB job title is misleading. band 5/6 could have same job title (e.g. tech lead)
for rank need to look at corp title but usually it is confidential:
band ? - CxO/MD
band 4 - ED
band 5 - Director (VP)
band 6 - Associate Director (AVP)
band 7 - Manager. (Associate)
band 8~10 - Analyst/Graduate Associate/etc (Analyst)

Assoc Director in SCB is equivalent to AVP level in foreign and local banks right? For JPM, that would be their senior associate?

Could be junior assoc. Depends on which AD level and YOE.
