Don need to demean people with salary. Surely there will always be people earning more. All are just employees regardless private or public sector. It all the 8 to 12 hrs per work day kind of job.

Im a degree holder in the private sector and my friend who is in the public sector earns way more than me with similar years of experience. I wanted to get into public sector that time but too bad im sec lower they didn’t want me so zzz.. I guess the avg public earns more than the avg private ba :/

Don't be despondent. I used to think so too, until i got accepted into MAS after working for 2.5 years in the insurance industry. I have exactly 3.5/5 second lower from NUS. It worked out for me, although i was rejected for a graduate officer role, i became an AD in MAS a few months earlier than graduate officers would have took , a slightly faster progression.

So can you say that it was your 2.5 yrs experience that helped you secure the MAS job? I am a fresh grad entering the insurance industry too (no, not selling insurance). Hoping to gain some experience first and follow your footstep in future.

this is correct.. an average public officer will earn around 100k p.a at 35 YO. i am pretty sure this number is higher than the average private sector..
although there are alot many ppl earning more in private
