but in government, you can hit 5.5-6.5k in 5 years..., (got engineer trained 2nd upper grad with NS doing ministry-work, for 5 years getting 5.8k already)
in private sector, exclude oil/gas/energy industry, maybe hit 4.5-5k in 5 years assume never jump ship for 1st class..
if you join singapore power, aka GLC, the increment is like 3-5% only.....maybe 3.5k starting!!

Hmm monthly worked out to be 3.2k++ with 3 mth bonus.
What industry is it? Whats the jobscope like??
Pass degree can get so high?
I guess it all depends on luck to get high pay job.

Hmm sp only 3.2k basic plus other benefits. Not very good.
Exxon I think within 2 years can hit 5k. No need 5 years so much.
What kind of govt work is good? What's their daily work life like?

No didn't study chemical eng. Studied eee. TBH I think the progress sucks there though. I realized for O&G all the money is in the refinery itself, not in EPC. I am in EPC so yeah. Don't plan to stay long there.
Took the job just because I need some experience + for no honours, the pay wasn't too bad.

At least u got in a very niche industry. Good start. I think a good start in a career will pave the future path. Imagine getting a 2.8k job and lousy industry..when will u take to get the amount you are getting now. I thinking if I got chance to go o&g. What company are there other than shell and Exxon ah?
