Summary Table: Income

Median gross monthly income in SG is only 4232.

https://www.singstat.gov.sg/statisti...-income-tables

Singstat has a whole other bunch of income statistics. Long story short, 10k per month gross is hardly "everyone"

Not when your cannon is bigger than the arsenal of NK.

Someone actually bothered to extract the data from Singstat and plot out the income distribution percentile by age group for 2016.

Yes, I always wonder.. when you say that your salary is $10k per month it should be just that - basic and perhaps some allowances but I think many big cannon tend to take it as their annual salary divided by 12.

Eg I am on a 17-18 month package for the past 6 years and my basic is relatively low. Heck, even my wife is earning more than me per month but my annual package is much more.

I don't think people will include bonus when they talk about monthly salary, otherwise with most of civil service & stat boards drawing 16-18 months package almost any degree grad with 8-10 years exp will be considered a superscale.

I think all big guns come to this forum. Everyone in this forum seems to be way above 10k per month. for those not 10k yet, seems to be able to reach it before 40s.

In ibanking your starting pay is 10k and 8-12 months bonus, no need wait simi 10% increment per year.

Otherwise 10k is par for the course for other degree holders by 30s/early twenties.

After all if your ministers and their pet generals are already making millions in their forties/fifties, surely you can do better than someone who ran SMRT into the ground both literally and figuratively speaking?

Although above is obviously a lame sarcasam, it brings to mind a whole group of people in the SAF/SPF who are paid way above 10k very early if you include bonus.

For SAF officers most are already drawing 150k+/- as a Captain including bonus and all sorts of allowance, the amounts get exponentially higher as you go Major, LTC or SLTC etc. Almost every officer is earning >10k before 30 years old if you count by total package.
