Mid-career prospects, think carefully before joining.

Is it worth getting so worked up over not getting redesignated. Many are hung up over getting DD title, not realising promotion prospects after that are limited. Most will get to TL with tons of work, get stuck there for rest of time in MAS or leave.
Also, its not difficult to identify you from the little you said. Next time don’t give so much info about your grade and rating on public forum. If you intend to stay on, watch your back as the consequences can be very ugly if you step on toes of certain people.

Dear Sir, I am but a humble rank-and-file minion.
But I laugh at certain colleagues in other departments who keep lamenting about how they are underpaid and overworked in MAS.
These jokers won't survive a day in the private sector with the salary they are getting now. Asking them to know their worth is pointless because it isn't much to begin with.
The hard truth is that some departments have more transferable skillsets than others. If you are not in one of these departments, it wouldn't hurt to be thankful for the favourable circumstances you are in

Agree. If they want to promote you, they will find the reasons for it. If they don’t want to promote you, they will also be able to find reasons.
Reverse engineering is often present in decision making. The same set of facts can be used to argue that something is black or white, and the deciding factor is where the power balance lies. Then once it’s obvious what the desired end result should be, groupthink brings others involved to consensus such that the process appears collaborative.
There is a certain character fit that will last long in the organisation culture, which is keep your head down and do whatever work comes your way, don’t rock the boat unless you are a superstar (or even if you are a superstar), don’t disagree with your boss even if they are wrong. If you can accept this stay on, your time to be promoted will come some day, if you can’t tahan anymore no point complaining just move on.

"watch your back as the consequences can be very ugly if you step on toes of certain people" - where's the psyche safety then?

I was not redesignated. I chill. Haha. All I’m saying is there is no end to competition cos next time if she is promoted to become your TL or div head but you’re not you will also be unhappy.
It’s generally known that psyche safety is still one of the areas that needs work on. (Though it also depends who are your bosses, some are very nice) Take it or leave it!

Is the probation for TOs also 6 months (like for mid-career joiners) before they can be recommended to be confirmed as permanent headcount, or shorter?
