maybe 20k sgd a month?

it all depends on how you define "comfortably".

rent for a upmarket condo for family of 4: $7k
school: $3k
car loan: $3k
utilities, phone bills: $1k
dinners: $2k
entertainment, misc: $4k

(my family live "comfortably" for just 7k a month.)

At least $12k/month.

Bills: $1k
Car: $2k
House: $1k
Kids: $1k
Wife/Parents: $1k
Food: $1k
Remaining $5k for savings/investments.

For a single 3.5 - 4K is good enough anything more is savings.

1.2K for a shared apartment.
1K for for weekdays expenses
1K for weekend expenses
500/month for a out-of-Singapore trip once in a while

5K/yr for the trip back home.

To me this is more than comfortable and less than 25% of singles (guessing) in Singapore can afford this living.

depends on the car model. a 2.4L toyota camry costs $133,388 SGD (about $100k USD).

the cheaper toyota vios costs $76,888 (about $57k USD).
