Think it's normally within 2 weeks after you sign but if they want the headcount you'll be asked to come in. Unless you have a very good reason, don't think you'd be able to drag that long plus the hiring manager might be continuously asking when you'll be entering. Don't think you want to make a bad impression before you even enter.

Yeah. Just going day by day cuz there are bills and loans to be paid. But no much motivation especially when people tell me it's "good pay" so I should go the extra mile. It's like a) it's not and b) the whole serve X years then eligible to promote rank defeats the purpose, especially when you start with a low salary since you need more years to get a higher amount. Starting to understand why a lot just do the minimum since there's no point.

Just joined a stat board and realised that I will hit ceiling in 2-3 year. Will it be easy to ask for promotion when I hit ceiling if I'm just an average performer?
